Research Networks

Department members founded the Irish Journal of Sociology, have played key roles in the Sociological Association of Ireland over the years, and put in place the still-running book series, Irish Sociological Chronicles. Over the past decade, we have built upon these early contributions to develop research activity within the department and to play a central role in the development of national research infrastructure, during a period that is likely to prove historically pivotal in shaping the Irish research system. The department also published a series of Irish Sociological Research Monographs.

In addition, staff are active in a wide range of centres, institutes and networks including:

Irish Qualitative Data Archive (IQDA)

Centre for the Study of Wider Europe (CSWE)

National Institute for Regional and Spatial Analysis (NIRSA)

Irish Social Science Platform (ISSP)

Dublin Regional Higher Education Alliance (DRHEA)

Sociological Association of Ireland (SAI)

European Consortium of Political Research (ECPR)
